GEORGE MICHAEL FINED FOR 'LEWD ACT' GEORGE MICHAEL has pleaded no contest today to committing a lewd act in a park restroom. Michael did not appear in court - instead his lawyer entered the plea on his behalf. The judge issued a fine of $810 and ordered Michael to perform 80 hours of community service. The singer was arrested April 7 when an undercover cop allegedly saw him commit a lewd act alone in a public washroom in Beverly Hills. MARIAH'S 'NO DIVA' MARIAH CAREY says she's no diva - after the "New York Post" quoted sources close to the World Music Awards that she was less than gracious in Monte Carlo. Sources say Carey showed up late to the show, which delayed the taping by an hour, then kept PRINCE ALBERT waiting at a gala dinner. Carey admits she was late and sent apologies to the prince. Other coverage: George Michael pleads "No Contest" George Michael's arraignment took place today in Beverly Hills Municipal Court. Michaels attorney, Ira Reiner, entered a plea of "no contest" to the charge of committing a lewd act in a public park. Michael's was not present in the courtroom. Judge Charles Rubin sentenced Michael's to 80 hours of community service, a fine of $810 and banned him from the Will Rogers State Park. The site of Michael's arrest. He told CNN in an interview that in fact he was gay and "I won't even say that it is the first time it happened."
