I appreciate your advice on shorting, Davef. Mr Bond likewise would never short (unless buying puts to hedge a long position in the same stock), as he does not wish any ill on any investors or officers of any company. Indeed, Mr Bond hopes one day to be owning a large chunk of equity in a business he took to NASDAQ and would not wish anyone out there to be shorting him and making malicious rumours.

Mr Bond thinks that shorting the acquirer and going long on the target is a market neutral strategy and is one of the best ways to make money on mergers while managing the risk...in theory. What Mr Bond wants to know is has anyone out there made serious money playing this game?
