Why is it that on this Dell bear thread...
no one even comments on the drop of $3 3/4 today? Do you people think its just nervousness before earnings are announced Monday? That the stock will bounce later in the day?

The stock will not bounce, expect a lower close.

As for nervousness, people should be. The bitter irony for DELL bulls may be that DELL meets (or, beats) the estimate, yet goes down. More important than current earnings, I believe that DELL will guide expectations slightly downward. What if DELL indicates that all geographies are strong, continued growth is anticipated, BUT margin pressure is building?

How about market maker plays due to option expiration? Option volume on the 90 calls is huge, which brings enormous pressure for the stock to settle around 90.

It was more than $5. I've just logged on today at 5:00pm here in Aus on Saturday. I think it is increasing evidence that $98 or whatever was finally the peak. I will now be looking to short more shares on Monday or Tuesday - it can easily head back to $77 which I see as a first support line.
