Ericsson will not comment on a Dagens Nyheter article (Sweden's largest morning paper) that claims it's going
to announce a deal with Bay Networks.

Ericsson has stated in the past that they are considering acquisitions. However, Bay is most likely larger than
what they are comfortable with.

In a Lucent buyout, I would expect to receive .55 Lucent @ $65 (assuming it goes down) shares for each BAY. This would value bay at
$ 35.75 per share which would value Bay at $8.1B.
I don't believe Bay would sell for anything less than $34.

3com bought USRX after they puked in the FEB QTR. with a depressed stock price of $47. Now a strong TELECOM stock could easily acquire Bay. What would another 120-130 million shares of LU do to the 1.3billion already out there. Nothing hopefully.

How much longer can BAY play a distant Third.
TILL OCTOBER AT THE EARLIEST.IS MY OPINION.

I think shareholders will demand BAY be put up for sale.
It's not bad enough we had to endure the former CEO for so long just
to watch BAY miss this great BULL MARKET.

IF this qtr doesn't produce results, get ready for some immeadiate action. (Just hope ASIA doesn't rattle markets during Summer)

People just looking for an excuse to sell.

Good Luck to all and would welcome comments.
