Lane,

My take on what I've read in the press about the US/Jap ecommerce agreement as it may pertain to PNLK is this:

>> * a duty-free environment for electronic transmissions<<

Participating parties from the two countries will not be taxed on PNLK charges from abroad, such as additional charges from Unz, printing charges from Royal Impressions, charges for financial services transmitted through PNLK, advertising on PNLK, etc.

>>* an international agreement on electronic contracts and digital signatures<<

I believe there are at least one or two on the thread more experienced than me to comment on this. However, I should think that this is explosive for PNLK.

>>* the free flow of information across national borders<<

No hassles making corporate info available to transmit/receive, financial data, etc.

>> * private sector leadership in the development of electronic payment systems<<

Leeway to carve out PNLK's own system to organize payments via the site between allianced financial institutions. HUGE. The entire deal can be done via the website from start to finish.

These points seem to me to open up PNLK to be a FULL service import/export site between the US and Japan. Clearly this is the present US governments goal for the Internet on a global scale.

Cheers,
Bond
