Kevin you might try www.quotes-plus.com has a CD with 2 years of historical data and daily EOD downloads. Their prices are very reasonable. You can export all data to Metastock or ASCII format.

I found what I was looking for. So I thought I would respond to myself for the benefit of others following this thread. ASCII format historical data, symbol.csv, can be downloaded from the microsoft investor web site.

investor.msn.com

Follow this link, type in any symbol, click enter, set parameters like weekly or daily data points - etc., then click 'export data.'

Best of all it's free.
