Hi Joe!

I recall an interview with Buffet's daughter. At that time (I hope he's eased up a little) his belief was that since he had made his own way completely on his own, that his children should do without extra financial help of any significance. She was refusing to complain, but did say something like, "I guess it would be nice to have some new kitchen cabinets!"

My own observation is that money like what Buffet has accumulated tends to fall under the control of persons of no very great distinction, such as the presidents of failed banks, who collect enormous salaries to oversee its distribution. Or like McGeorge Bundy, president of the Ford Foundation in the later 1960s, advising colleges to "be adventurous" with their investments. His advice cost Yale University something like a billion dollars.
