THIS WEEK'S TOP -- AND BOTTOM -- PRICE PERFORMERS

This week, unfortunately, there were far more losers than winners. In fact, there were only 25 winners in all (not counting JRM, with a "gain" of .1%).

A few things stand out about this week's list of winners, for what it's worth (perhaps nothing): 1) not one driller on it (but quite a few of them on the big losers list); 2) the list is dominated by small caps, 9 of which are true micro-caps (under 20 mil.); 3) 17 of the 25 have institutional ownership of less than 50%, and with the exception of WAI, IO, and NR, they are followed by a minimum number of analysts (from 0 to 5); 4) ADR's are booming for a third week in a row.

This is the third week I have made a winners' list, and the second week I have made a losers' list. An asterisk (*) will be used to denote companies that were top price performers in week one; a plus sign (+) will be used to denote those that were top price performers in week two; and a pound sign (#) will be used to denote companies that were among the worst price performers in week two. (Note that five companies on the winners' list this week -- including the top two -- were among last week's biggest losers. I suppose the message is: where there's life, there's hope!)
