Lucretia,

"bitch slapped" ?????

After a 34 point move since March, I guess I can weather a few points dropped. And if it should go down 50% (it won't, ask Hank) I'll still be ahead of where we were in January. My wife will only be up 1100% in 2.5 years. So why the panic darling? Why don't you go hassle the KTEL or the AOL threads? You continually rant about bloated PEs... Anyone listening to you might think that DELL had the highest PE in the market.

"bitch slapped" ????? If the last 4 weeks is "bitch slapped", you can do it to me once a month... please!

PS. Do you have blond roots?

good trading, 3.

Lucretious.....I don't know how long you've been invested in DELL or even followed this fine company's stock price....I have owned DELL long enough to know today's/this week's price action is meaningless....Mark this post, come back to it next Friday....My number is DELL at 100 or over....What's yours?....Every bear I've ever seen bragging how this overvalued stock is going down is only right for a few minutes....You'll be singed to a crisp if you don't have a quick trigger...Guaranteed........Oh, Venkie, like I said a couple months ago, If DELL doesn't report stellar numbers Michael Dell will be sued till he's got to stand in the welfare line for all the up-front statements he continually makes about how strong their growth is in all product lines, in all geographic regions, and "No, we are not entering the sub-1000 market".....All the reasons why HWP stated they are going to revise lower are not DELL's experience......

Bears ought to be stepping back and looking at DELL from a historical perspective and see how this stock trades...Extreme volatility is normal for DELL....Year to year gains in stock price speaks for itself...

Bought more today...Long in DELL (in case you couldn't tell)

Regards, George

re: << too naive? give me a break. That's the kettle calling the pot black >>

LT,

Since you claim yourself an experienced options "investor", I would like to share with you the options trading lesson #101:

"Avoid bullishly oriented option strategies in downtrends, and bearishly oriented option strategies in uptrends."

Simply put, don't buy calls in downtrends, and don't buy puts in uptrends. The uptrend stock will not go south just because you buy puts. DELL is certainly in its uptrends, since it is above its 50-day and 200-day moving average, and you're trying to pick the top, which even a naive option trader would try to avoid. Remember, nowhere is trend-fighting more painful than in options trading. If you don't learn it from here, you will learn it from your painful experience, which is not worth it, my friend.
