Thread,

Crappy day - down 5 1/4 today, 3 yesterday - poop! I better call my broker now, probably too late! I'm gonna' lose it all! I have that feeling! but, I better check my figures again!

Let's see now, close 5/11/98 - 90 3/8, close 5/15/98 - 90! Yeah, I guess it's CRASHING NOW, down, let's see, uh --- 3/8 for the week! Like 37.5 cents for the week is a crash!

Let me check previous week! Close 5/4/98 - 88, close 5/8/98 - 91 3/4. Well, that's UP 3 3/4 for the week. Well that's not too bad. Probably a 'fluke'. Yeah, that's it, a 'fluke'. Better check previous week.

Close 4/27/98 - 76 5/16, close 5/1/98 - 84 1/4. Well that's UP 7 15/16 for the week. Well that's not too bad either! Maybe not a 'fluke'.

3 Week performance - $7.87+$3.75-$0.38 = $11.24 UP!

Gotta' remember the last time I tried to 'optimize' my position, it cost me $25K (yes it did, I made the 'trades'), maybe this time "I'll just play these!"

Have I missed something here?

Regards,

Ken

3, I hadn't seen that link, thanks. I like the spirit of KS's argument but think he has the wrong stock. As LT suggested, Dell as too many MMs. If there's more than one MM in a stock, collusion among them would necessarily be required to manipulate the price IMO.

How many MMs does dell have? I can't answer this but do know SUNW had 23 some yrs ago. That number is fewer today both because SUNW is less actively traded, and also the number of NASDAQ MMs has been declining. Nonetheless, I can't believe a stock like Dell with its huge daily trading volume is subject to manipulation.
