Jim. I think intel is a very easy stock to own if you are prepared to hold for at least 5 years. When I made my original purchase in 1994 it went sideways for about a year and then straight up. If I remember correctly I bought it after some bad news that had caused a decline and have agressively added to it intermittently since then including through a monthly drip. I have not calculated my ytd return on intc for 1998 but I imagine it is not that wonderful considering what is out there but I have confidence that I will be vindicated in the long run. I know it sounds very conservative but I have enough craziness in my portfolio to scare any sane person and I don't worry too much about intc.
