Great job, Pat.

I, too, will be adding to my position (after the current market's weakness expires) and will remain very patient.

1999 and beyond will be very significant years for this
outstanding company.

Thanks again, Allan

pat & christopher - thanks for your notes. I couldn't make the 20 minute drive east yesterday. They clearly own their market, hold the strategic keys to the kingdom for an assured industry wide transition to DUV equipment, have exciting newer products coming on stream as they stay ahead of the curve on the technology front, still sport a large underlying short interest that has been showing every sign of wanting out and although they currently trade at 22x '99 earnings which makes executing the $50 million stock buyback problematic nevertheless as earnings continue to grow that stock buyback *shall* happen unless the stock price appreciates in line with the earnings growth. Sounds like an altogether palatable recipe for a successful investment to me.

Good Luck To Each And All

Pat-

One concern that I have always had, is that Cymer is a one horse show. I know that it has been argued that DUV will be around for 10 years, but we have yet to see or hear of any plans for development outside or beyond DUV lithography. It becomes difficult to give strong valuations for a stock whose product will cease to used in ten years.

Did the mention any thing that might lead you to believe they are working on auxilliary applications for excimer lasers?
