Bill, Herb- good points.

Bill scores a few about the available software- but the countermove is well known to many.

Dataviz's laplink is so essential that bundling it with the OS makes the OS more valuable to me, as a user.

I don't want Apple to bundle a windows emulator with every copy of the OS, but I would like to see it as an optional bundle when you order your mac. " You want to run Windows software? No problem- just order with the Windows option- $90 more... for Bill Gates, you know. "

All most people want to do is surf the web, type a letter, get their email. Mac has all that. I hate crappy software and am willing to pay for good tools. Mac has those.

Games. That's a valid objection- mac games really lag right now. For me, the net is the best game in the world.

If the salesman can say- "oh yes, it runs any software if you choose this option" it really puts a cork in the software arguement.

The salesman can do that now, but Apple could help them through bundles and training and store displays of Macs actually running windows. Whouldn't that be effective?
