Was doing a little looking around and found this interesting info: I particularly like the link to the MAP showing the interconnection of this Fiberoptic Link Around the Globe (FLAG)... Interesting that many of these countries that the link connects are the same ones that JC is talking to...

The following comes from :: flag.bm
The COOL MAP of the world is at: flag.bm
(After following the link, scroll to the bottom.)

One of the most rapidly growing sectors of the telecommunications
industry is international long distance, the transmission of voice, data and video between countries and regions, fueled by the growth in the global economy, liberalization of international telecommunications
services and the Internet. The result is the substantial increase in
demand for high performance fiberoptic cable capacity linking countries and regions around the world.

FLAG, the world's longest fiberoptic undersea cable, covers a distance
of 28,000 kilometers linking the United Kingdom and Japan with
additional landings in Spain, Italy, Egypt, Saudi Arabia, the United
Arab Emirates, India, Malaysia, Thailand, Hong Kong, China and Korea.
The FLAG cable system serves the explosive demand for a high
performance, secure and cost effective digital transmission capacity
along this most populated route.... (Silver chopped the rest, see link).

Silver, off exploring the WWW.
