ESD vs. Internet,

Thanks for providing the link Raffica.

I'd like to suggest the following: We should all show some discipline in distinguishing between E-commerce and ESD (Electronic Software Distribution). E-commerce refers to any business transaction that takes place over the Internet. That includes buying cars. ESD however refers to the delivery of products over the INternet. THe E-commerce market is huge, but that's because it may include sending orders for Mack trucks. ESD is only a fraction of the overall E-commerce market.

Per the last IDC survery, ESD stands at 200 million for 1998, projected to go to 1 billion by 2000. WAVX, TSQD, CREAF and the rest are in the ESD business.

Everybody knows that E-commerce is big, very few people in cyberdom know what ESD is. We have an advantage here. Let the stock market come to us.

"Industry Standards" are being forged for e-commerce, content distribution, digital content-security models, etc. at a furious pace. Is anyone on this board aware of WAVE's participation in any standard-setting bodies, ad-hoc consortiums, anything? We've come up dry so far. Thanks in advance for any pointers, folks.

Good luck to all,
Hound
