Randy,

The Informed Investors Medical Devices/Diagnostics Forum planned for Saturday, May 16 in San Diego has been rescheduled to Saturday August 1: biz.yahoo.com. It's very interesting to note the reasons why it was cancelled: "Pre-registration was lighter than anticipated, prompting us to reschedule to a date we know will be strong," "Our Forums reflect conditions in the market," Chanecka added. "While biotech stocks are enjoying a little resurgence right now, medical devices/diagnostics stocks remain depressed. This helps explain the light pre-registration."

In other words, they're confirming what we already know, that stocks like Quidel are still depressed, undervalued. There's simply not much interest in them at this time. This helps explain why their price is so low. The "little resurgence" will soon become a big resurgence, though, as the biotech sector continues to heat up.

Actually, this delay could be good news for Quidel. Since the forum will be combined with biotechs, Quidel could get more exposure. The biotech market should be attracting more attention by August, and hopefully Quidel will have made some significant announcements by then.
