>>>Dan (or should I say Shirley Temple),<<<

Since Shirley Temple Black, congresswoman of California and onetime movie star, was a far right conservative and big business tool, I would think she would have more in common with you than Dan, James. Don't you think? Although Dan keeps asking for the title.

Not that I think all conservatives dress up in little pink dresses. Roy Cohn, J. Edgar Hoover, and Shirley Temple, that's all I can recall at the moment. Oh, and the odd member of Maggie Thatcher's party.

Now this may seem like an oddly bigoted, twisted, ad hominem attack. In fact it is, rather preposterously so. I thought you ought to try one on yourself, is all. I refer you to your post:

"...Yez, zey vill all have to be controlled and regulated. Ve vill teach zem vhat..." I presume that here you refer to the rather conservative party running Germany some 60 years ago. Not really bleeding heart liberals, anyway, were they. Which makes your context rather mysterious. Of course it's gone rather out of fashion to compare liberals to the Chinese Communists, those being the new best friends of big business and the WSJ.

Chaz

BTW, the 'Woodside Gazette' says Bill and Hillary stayed with Steve Jobs when they were out here in CA last. Given Steve's newfound relationship with BG, think there might have been any conversation about the situation, or would it have been all hands off? Hard for the subject not to come up, don't you think?

James,

>>Yez, zey vill all have to be controlled and regulated. Ve vill teach zem vhat real power iz all about. Bill Gates may have crushed his rivals but I have ze power to crush him. I cannot create wealth but I can DESTROY it at will. I am ze law, ze guns, ze government, ze ultimate power. Bwaaahhh,ha,ha,ha,ha,ha!!!!!!!!!

Ever think that maybe Microsoft is ruining it for the whole industry with its questionable business practices and court/press antics? The anti-trust investigation does not go into how much money they are making but how they are making it.

Apparently the American public does not care enough to even start a petition or anything supporting your views. Could it be that you are in the minority in a majority-rules society?

Zince, ve are on zee var topic. Which industrialist ever refused to accept government contracts on the grounds that the government was going to destroy the free-market economy with its wartime spending? I am sure Bill would be outraged at having WindowsCE on every smart-bomb built today! I'll bet the DOD would get whatever icons they want just as long as they sign the checks... Certain government interventions in business are more acceptable to capitalism than others.

Cheers,

Norm
