>>>>>The way to use the room is to use your own tools to identify those plays which meet your own criteria for good trades and to take the appropriate action at the appropriate time.

mIRC software gives the capability to "highlight in color" any specific words the user wishes.
This is handy, when wishing to follow particular stocks or posters.

Makes for ease in finding those stocks the user follows and ignoring that which is not needed.

ps..I don't visit often, as I am too often uncontrollable and selfishly seduced into stocks I have no business being in.

But ... I do visit when I see a stock moving that I am very familiar with, as I know others also play.
TLK (INDO stock), and PQT (PCquote) are a couple I play regularly, and will join the room to give feedback on them when timely.

Irby, I would add to your #Daytraders Tips:

#Daytraders provides an excellent opportunity for traders to compare notes and to exchange knowledge.

Watching during Market hours can be educational and participating in off hours conversation is another route to gaining knowledge.

Is there a lot of chaff? Of course there is!

If a new trader is searching for quality information it is there to be found. I am referring to knowledge of the market, of the momentum of stocks, Market Makers, the Media, there is tremendous knowledge and talent represented in #Daytraders just as it is here in this thread.

Speaking to individual stocks and info on the fly pertaining to specific stock action, I would say that the info in the channel runs the full range, from informed interpretation to complete contrary indications of tops and bottoms.

The greatest thing about the technology is that it is so customizable.

You can hilight for text to help pick out important info, you can also do the opposite and get Mirc to filter out chatter to make monitoring the busy channel more manageable. There are lot

The folks that run #Daytraders are hero's in my book, they make a concerted effort to provide a useful space for anyone who chooses to show up.

To me #Daytraders, is just like anything else in life, you get out of it what you put into it. If I make something of myself, I will have to give alot of credit to #Daytraders and to SI's The Final Frontier thread.

Here's to singing the praises of #Daytraders ten or twenty years from now!

#DAYTRADERS Chatroom Tips - Do Your Own Homework:

Anyone who has spent time in #Daytraders will tell you the fastest way to go broke is to act on every trade that is hot in the room.

Every traders has his/her own agenda. Due your own due diligence before leaping into a trade. Here are some things to help you determine if a trade has good potential.

News

- Do you understand what the company does?

- Is the news significant enough to move the stock and attract sustained interest so that you can exit with your targeted profit?

- Is the news recent or is it several hours/days old?

- Is it a repeat of a previous news release?

- Is the news being picked up by major news wires?
( Briefing.com,Reuters,Dow Jones,CNBC )

Volume

- Is it real volume or just one or two large block trades?

- Is the volume increasing quickly?

Price Action

- Are the market makers simply moving the stock up briefly so that they can distribute stock to you at a pumped price?

- Who is in control? retail or market makers?

- Are traders buying on the ask?

- What does the chart look like? is the daily trend down?

Other

- Are you late to the party? have traders in the room already loaded up before you? are they looking to unload for 1/4 or 1/2 to you?

- Is the overall market an active market for traders? or are there very few plays making big runs?

- What is the float? is it small enough that a significant run won't be diluted?

- What is the insider ownership? are there any outstanding warrrants or options?

- Who are the major market makers?

There are many more factors to consider and you should be able to determine the majority of them as a matter habit - you better! because you know the OTHER traders will!
