May I request some expert advice from this thread? What is the best way to hedge a portfolio of stocks belonging to my 92 year old aunt? Of course, I don't want to pay the huge capital gains by selling and its nice that the IRS will be a big partner in any losses sustained. This is not a diversified portfolio; a large percentage is in two stocks (CPB and ROK). Any suggestions would be appreciated. I have no experience with options, and I understand that the laws regarding shorting against the box have changed? TIA
