Thanks Pierre, and for my own portfolio the advice would be appropriate. I see that you are Canadian, and I'm not familiar with the tax laws there. In the U.S. we avoid all capital gains taxes at death--i.e. stocks inherited at death get the stepped-up tax basis and "only" get estate-taxed. There must be a better way.
