<<<This is a crock Lucretius.....First JP, now you.....So, you think people are going to dump the stock if Dell shows revenue growth of "only" 53.5%, and/or net profits growth of "only" 77%, and/or EPS growth of "only" 89%......(BTW- EPS growth of 89% would put the quarterly # at .51, did you know this before you commented? This is far more than needed than to boost the stock once again.) >>>>

I can GUARANTEE, that if DELL's growth rate slows, the stock will get KILLED. You are somewhat....er, well naive to think anything different. Sorry, but that's the only way I know how to say it.

<<<Your only hope, as I see it, is to try to panic people to see before Wednesday; Otherwise, all of your put positions will end up worthless.........>>>

MY PUTS are LEAPS and I have NEVER shorted this stock. How many times do I have to say this? In any case my position or where I sell my puts is NOT IMPORTANT. I could care less where you buy or sell this fat cow. As for panicing people? Give me a break. negative stmts on the this thread couldn't move this stock an 1/8. don't be so naive. I'm only interested in information. Neither you nor I can move this stock based on what we say on this stupid board.

John, I've noticed three common threads in what the current crop of bears are saying. So, in the interests of bandwidth economy I thought I'd do the entire thread a favor by summarizing the most common bear arguments. They are now pretty much conceding that this quarter will be great, but clouds loom over distant quarters. Basically, the arguments are:

Thread #1:
1. ASP will continue to fall and gross margins will be squeezed;
2. Demand will slacken;
3. Asian economies will continue to implode;

Thread #2:
1. The future of hardware is in the sub-zeros;
2. Dell does not sell sub-zeros;
3. Computers are commodities;

Thread #3
1. The stock market is overvalued;
2. Dell is even more over-valued than the market;
3. Dell can't maintain 40% revenue growth.

I have noted that all of these arguments are based on subjective judgements, and as data become available (such as IDC's estimate for world-wide demand) the bear time-frame is pushed out a quarter or two, thus avoiding the inevitable colission with quantifiable data.

TTFN,
CTC
