And I agree with Brad.

There are better (not easier) ways to deal with the off-topic personal crud, IMO. Let's work to keep SI a place where we want to read and post, not just sweep the dirt under the rug, so to speak.

The ability for me to filter my own screen certainly doesn't affect anyones right to freedom of speech ..it just protects my ability to filter out SPAM junk.
