Christine:

Although I am on the side of the whales (which may surprise you), I am also on the side of human property rights. A Green"war" vessel ramming a ship violates private property. If they are warned off and refuse to comply, then deadly force to protect private property is a well established means of action.

If Greenwarriors trampled down my gates and rammed the walls of my house to protest the kind of tuna I was eating, they would all be pushing up lilies. Or better yet, perhaps they could be ground into a fine meal to feed little endangered animals.

Although I don't agree with you entirely , I'm kinda on your side. But I do have over 20 guns and don't eat anything that doesn't walk, swim or fly I do think we need some things changed.

Long lines out. Killing sharks JUST for the fin- out, shrimpers with out TEDS, Gone.

The difference between echo friendly and not is slight.

"public attention getting stunts"
I wonder if we could include the Ruby Ridge siege in that category?

"theater on the grand scale"
I see a little bit of neoprene ethics sliding in there. Ecoterrorism is still terrorism. And I abhor all violent action, regardless of the cause. If someone can't make his point using due process in a society that honors free speech, maybe that person needs to sit down and chill.
"ramming a boat with no violent intent" Oxymoron. Big one.
How do you stop a whale hunt in progress? No legal, proper way I can think of. You have to go criminal if that's your aim. What I'd do is set my sights on futur whale hunts - and use the system to make my point. The moment I plan an act of sabotage - by my standards I've already lost.
Consider for a second how I passionately plead the right to keep and bear arms. What form of "freedom fighting" on my part would you accept as theater or as a legitimate means of engaging public attention?
