PLEASE CUT AND PASTE THIS LETTER AND EMAIL YOUR SENATORS AND REPS THIS WEEKEND!!! THIS IS IT FOLKS, THE VOTE GOES DOWN MONDAY:

I'm no poet, but if you don't feel like crafting your own letter, this one should do the trick . . .

Dear [name here]:

I do not support the proposed tobacco legislation, and you shouldn't either. It smacks of big-government hypocrisy and political demagoguery.

The bill is not only constitutionally unsound but it is obviously motivated by greed, and places an unnecessary burden upon farmers, retailers and consumers.

Do not think that your constituents are fooled by the "saving our children" theme behind which supporters of the McCain bill are trying to hide their mercenary motives. The bottom line is that states such as ours have failed to enforce the underage smoking laws ALREADY on the books.

Our children would be far better off we properly enforced these laws--not if our government collectively picks the pockets of the tobacco firms.

Vote "No" to the McCain bill, and prove to your constituents that you have the courage to stand apart from political grandstanding, and that you understand what is obvious to every voting American--Big government taxation is NOT the solution to underage smoking.
