Clough is a strategist for ML, but I have rarely seen him make this sort of a call. The way ML does it is to say "move away from cyclical stocks and into large cap growth" without specifying the individual groups except within that framework. I did a quick check and the overweight/marketweight/neutral opinions on CSCO and SLB and they haven't changed since 1995. Not exactly a "call".

What he might have alluded to was to move away from internet related plays towards lower pe energy related plays.

Last major call was toward European ADR's as the EMU consolidates.

BTW, if you look at SmartMoneys Mavens section, Clough is ranked near the bottom. He went waaaaay to defensive into bonds too early.
