Question--(and answer attempt)--What does LVLT bring to table ?? Frank-- My insight into LVLT is what expertise they can bring into the ip game. Apart from what you have already mentioned, eg. their past accompishments (KWIT and fiber infrastructure and MFS), they have started anew with LVLT. On board right now, they have some of the best and brightest ip network architects of any and they came from iMCI, SPRINT and others. With the fiber infrastructure that LVLT is rolling out, DWDM, their potential is greater than QWSTs and they start from a "greenfield". New POPs, advanced ip services, VPN's, VoIP as that evolves, they have a couple of CLECs and their existing customer base and they have a lot of cash. (even tho they seem to be depressing stock value by selling some, so we glean on this thread--dunno why tho). So, you are correct--LVLT has potential and I view its potential as greater than that of QWSTs--But QWST is running fast. Avici has nothing as yet and what they may have is lessor than what I see already. CSCO for example and many startups here in SV. NORTEL knows nothing about data infrastructure and neither does QWST--in comparison to what LVLT can bring to table--when they bring it to table. You will see major consolidation in data communications companies and new partnerships-- ditto in the lower infrastructure things. Many many players in this game-- brought to you by the internet growth and potential. CSCO, BAY, COMs,ASND, LU---NT,NEC,Alcatel---QWST,LVLT, MFS,MFNX and others----ISPs like WORLDCOM-MCI,UUNET,GTE-BBN,SPRINT, ATT and many second tier ISP's---then you have the SBC-megaRBOC, BellSouth, etc., All brought to you by the internet ;-))) Don't believe in the ubiquity of ip yet ??? You will !!! We could discuss this for days but I'll stop here. I'll take you to lunch if you are in the Valley and we can discuss forever. Curt...
