srs,
They sure are capable of writing negative stuff. This protects them from us suing them, although, unfortunately, not other companies like IIG.

I was digging in the WHO? site. I found this about a company called Consensus who is partnered with WHO? They will apparently be reselling or repackaging Who? (and perhaps NRI technology) It talks about ORACLE
which could make the IDXer's a little nervous. I am ot saying that there is a definite link with biometrics, but there is a distinct possibility. Because, no matter how you encrypt, you still have to have a fullproof way to identify the person you are talking to.

Oracle(r) Application Server 4.0 to Integrate Consensus Development's
SSL PlusToolkit for Secure Communication

REDWOOD SHORES, Calif., Mar. 25, 1998-Oracle Corp. and Consensus
Development
Corp., a leading provider of encryption software and network security
solutions announced the selection and licensing of Consensus
Development's SSL Plus for use in Oracle's Internet products to help
make Network Computing the most secure business environment available.
Oracle(r) Application Server 4.0 will use SSL Plus, Consensus
Development's Secure Socket Layer (SSL) network security technology, to
protect data exchanged between the Application Server and users, and
between the Application Server and other Oracle products. Consensus
Development's SSL Plus provides developers with an effective and easy
way to build advanced SSL 3.0 security into networked applications, from
secure email and home banking to remote access servers. SSL 3.0 is the
defacto industry standard security protocol, providing data encryption,
server authentication, message integrity and client authentication
across the Internet and intranets. SSL 3.0 has been widely endorsed by
key industry players in addition to having been selected by the Internet
Engineering Task Force (IETF) for use in their Transport Layer Security
working group.

"Business on the Internet requires high customer confidence and
enterprise quality systems. The combination of the Oracle Application
Server and Consensus Development's SSL Plus ensures that communications
along the entire value chain from end user to database is secure, and
that this security is easily extensible to new and third-party
products," said Beatriz Infante, senior vice president of the
Application Server Division at Oracle. "Oracle's strategic agreement
with Consensus Development is in keeping with our commitment to make
Network Computing the safest and smartest choice for our customers and
partners."

"We are seeing a paradigm shift from viewing SSL as a Web commerce
protocol to a more general security standard," said Christopher Allen,
president of Consensus Development. "The SSL protocol was designed to be
both transport and application protocol independent, allowing SSL to be
used in a wide variety of new network protocols such as LDAP and IMAP.
As SSL Plus is integrated into Oracle's powerful platform for Network
Computing, their customers will be able to assuredly and securely send
confidential data over intranets and the Internet."

Oracle Application Server is Oracle's strategic software platform for
deploying business-critical, thin-client applications with superior
scalability, reliability and manageability. Building on the
award-winning version 3.0, Oracle Application Server enables
organizations to deploy and manage applications on professionally
managed servers, rather than on hundreds or thousands of desktop PCs. As
a general purpose application server, version 4.0 will support all
network clients, including PCs and network computers, serving as a
universal point of access to any database, application or legacy system.
Oracle Application Server 4.0 will integrate the latest
industry-standard technologies and distributed object component models,
including CORBA 2.0 and Internet Inter-ORB Protocol (IIOP).

New Java features make the server 100-percent Java programmable,
allowing Java developers to easily program new applications or
components in Java, then deploy them within the Oracle Application
Server for operation across any operating system or Web server platform.
Other new features in Oracle Application Server 4.0 will include
enhanced transaction capabilities, improved Windows NT integration, and
enhanced server management features.

SSL Plus is a complete security solution, offering all the tools
necessary to build integrity, identity, secrecy and authentication into
network products and systems, including embedded systems. Offering easy
and rapid integration for both clients and servers, SSL Plus can be used
to secure any network application from Web browsers to secure email,
from home banking to secure EDI. SSL Plus supports a broad range of
encryption algorithms and industry standard X.509v3 certificates. SSL
Plus enables transparent, easy to use, secure authentication and data
encryption in Oracle products.

Founded in 1988, Consensus Development Corporation is the leading
provider of complete SSL security development tools that enable
developers to easily integrate and deploy security built on cryptography
and digital certificates. Consensus Development is dedicated to creating
trust and security in digital network communications, and providing
public-key based privacy, integrity, identity and authority.
