Dear Jane: I certainly cannot guess what the motives of God are and really don't even want to try; but to address the question of why God will not trust Christians with great wealth and along with that question, why satan would reduce us to poverty and rags ? It almost sounds like a cliche to say that in Christ we already have wealth unimaginable and then in the same breath wonder why God's people have to struggle in financial matters to such a degree. I don't want to start quoting scripturers I just want to make a few observations of what I have observed over the years. Often times, immature Christians, those not very mature in the faith will struggle in finances just as they struggle in faith, prayer, church attendance. However my observation is that Christ will make himself evident in every area of life including the finances. As to the great wealth, I know it is hard, hard ,hard for many people to believe but I feel every Christian is a multimillionaire already in Christ. Have cancer; get healed; millions cannot buy that. Don't think of a "poor Christian barely making it. Not." Think rich rich Christian. It's just that our wealth is stored up in heavenly accounts. It is not that God does not trust us with great wealth.. not not. It is simply that God does not trust earthly banks, earthly stock markets, earthly municipal bonds, earthly safety deposit boxes as suitable storage for our riches. I believe if we could see for ourselves the amount of wealth God had stored up for us we would fall on our faces as if dead. And when there is a need for it even here on earth I believe that God lets us draw on our accounts..........when there is the need... and a few of our wants (I always add that ). Have a great weekend.....In Christ.gregor ( I have to miss choir practice tonight.. I.m going to my 7 yr old daughter's dance recital..looking forward to a great time....) gregor
