Jim, <what's different in Winstone 98 vs Winstone 97?>
According to Windows system monitor, all work sets for
WS98 are much bigger than those for WS97, so the usage
of memory is quite a bit different - less space for
disk cache, more L2 cache misses. The WS98 puts K6 at
some disadvantage. Another disadvantage for K6 is that
the newer WS98 applications are more likely compiled
with P-II optimizations. At least all recent video
drivers are.
