Ross, I agree. If what "the source" said was true, then Bill Gates did right to tell Joel Klein to go screw himself. To repeat:

"A person familiar with the negotiations said the Justice Department and states wanted the Redmond, Wash., software giant to hide the screen that customers use to access Windows, called its interface; hide ways that consumers could use Microsoft's Internet Explorer browser, included in Windows, to view information on the Web; and include a copy of Navigator, the browser of arch-rival Netscape Communications Corp., with every version of Windows sold.

Microsoft, which agreed negotiations were at an impasse, accused the government of making "unreasonable demands."

Incredible. The DOJ actually wants MSFT to buy a copies of Netscape Navigator and give it to PC mfrs to install on every computer sold. I knew it all along: Joel Klein is simply an old bitter Mac fan, seeking revenge.
