Just when I thought this thread had scraped bottom, Lee comes along and surprises me... On Janice's advice, I tried some cantaloupes. I found them most inadequate. The diameter was just too small and they kept bursting. I switched over to watermelons. Everything worked out just fine on the second try. That's when I figured out to use them long-ways.
