Jay,

Re: "I again reiterate that a company based on discipline is a relic."

Well, I disagree with you ... I will let Intel's flawless execution on
both the .35um and .25um process development and transition to manufacturing
serve as an example of what can be accomplished with focused leadership
by management and self discipline/contribution by individuals. I suggest
if you want a very "creative" company, you might look at AMD or Cyrix.

(In my mind you can replace "creative" by "chaotic")

Make It so,
Yousef

Jay - Re: "I again reiterate that a company based on discipline is a relic. "

I have saved this remark.

It may be one of the dumbest remarks I have ever heard.

Is this representative of your general thought process?

Paul

Re "Someone has to be in the trenches getting the creative ideas into production. "

Maybe, maybe not.

If there were creative individuals present - the production would
be relegated where it belongs - to robots. Just MHO, I have absolutely no idea whether this is feasible.

I again reiterate that a company based on discipline is a relic.

You obviously are not an engineer or systems analyst. The discipline
required to get some these products into production can be enormous
for the engineers on the front lines. Individual discipline is
absolutely imperative in the High-Tech workplace.
