taoman: Thanks for the informative post.

Re: "BMR now is fully funded from private sources."

Just so people won't get the wrong idea, allow me to clarify that statement. Bob Bemer's software company (BMR Software) has been a private company since its inception. It was not a public traded company which was taken private. Taoman's post didn't say that BMR was public, but if the facts aren't readily available, perhaps someone might assume that.

According to the wording of taoman's statement, they (BMR Software) are now "fully funded from private resources". The key word being "fully". Until recently, BMR was being funded primarily by Bob Bemer's pocket.

This means that BMR has secured private funding to support their rapid growth and expected expansion. Apparently, an external organization did some Due Diligence on BMR (the company), the people, and the product. The result of that DD was positive enough to get them to commit funding for the near term. I haven't seen anything published yet that verifies this private funding, or that defines what all this means in regards to outstanding contractual or licensing agreements.

Caution is advised. This new "beneficial ownership" might mean that BMR no longer is obligated to honor the prior licensing agreement. Even without this little twist, there might have been something in the original TPII/BMR agreement that was limited by time. Since the product was first expected to be available in December of '97 (then Feb '98, then .. etc.) the time limitation (if any) may have expired.

With all this in mind, I have to agree with taoman's posted conjecture: "To think they are about to strike the mother lode may be way off base."

And, for those who think I'm bashing the stock. Forget it. I'm not. However, since my primary reason for being interested in TPII was the "promised" BMR connection, my interest is rapidly waning. It might still happen. It might not.

For the record, I bought at $1.05 and sold at $1.66. I was looking for a re-entry point at about $1.25. Now, though, I'm not too sure.

Wishing everybody success,

TED

Allow me to temper some of what I posted earlier. Perhaps I sketched a somewhat harsh view of TPII's chances, and I don't mean to characterize Bemer as a kook. From what I've heard, the board of BMR software is comprised of folks who would have entree to the highest echelons of US business.

On the other hand, as I recall vaguely, didn't TPI advertise their own tool at one time-something like "Transform2000"? And how many fish have they hooked with this tool? If they weren't very successful finding customers with that one, why should we expect them to be successful trying to sell Bemer's tool?

All I'm saying is, evaluate the company based on concrete evidence that they are landing business with their other services, and make your investment decisions accordingly. If you are here strictly waiting for a lucrative licensing deal with BMR, you could be disappointed.

TAOMAN, good info, while I largely agree with you, I just wanted to clarify one thing you said:

YOU WROTE:
"I am getting the impression that you all think one of the
reasons the BMR deal has not materialized is because the BMR tool is not ready. My source indicates otherwise."

They have completed two betas in Puerto Rico. One was chosen specifically for its difficulty. Another was more ruotine. They are about to begin a couple of beta tests in Texas starting next week.

**** Aren't you actually agreeing with what we said? We said that the BMR software was not ready until recently and that is why the agreement was not finalized with BMR. YOU are saying there is still some beta testing going on and most of it was just finished. Seems to support EXACTLY what we were saying.

I can assure you that talks ARE going on right now with BMR and TPII. You can't blame TPII for trying to negotiate the best distribution deal they can, and with the Letter of Intent from last Fall, they have the inside track. However, management of TPII is not (or better not be) that stupid do as to blow the whole deal. I am sure IF THE SOFTWARE IS AS GOOD AS ADVERTISED (and that is still an "if") they will do what they have to do to get the best deal possible. Management is very sharp.

But good info post, TAO...thanks for giving us more important info,

Dave
