Roger, I believe you are mistaken. Win98 will be shipping Monday, regardless of the breakdown in talks. I've read that from multiple sources, some of which quoted Bill Gates directly.

I think MSFT was far more generous than they needed to be in the concessions they were willing to give. The DOJ demands were clearly outrageous; I would say expected to be rejected by MSFT. The DOJ wants to sue, so let them.

I'm not at all opposed to an in-depth look at the contract agreements MSFT has with PC OEMs, but leave Win98 alone.
