Mike, that's right. I talked to so many NXTL people that I can't remember who gave me this info but I had always wondered how many local calling areas there were. It's my impression that the number of local calling areas has been recently reduced to its present number. As for the rate per minute, that varies according to the area and customer package plan.

You might want to consider that those "12 local calling areas." One of those is according to a friend of mine whose company recently signed on with Nextel includes all of Southern California to Las Vegas. Not exactly a bicycle ride radius.
