Shane, I know what you are saying, and I agree -- like it or not, the vast majority of today's businesses have gargantuan amounts of money invested in Microsoft technology - mostly in training costs. And yes, Bill Gates could easily live the rest of his life in unadultered luxury even if he got only $5 per share for his MSFT stock holdings - truthfully, he probably doesn't really need any of his MSFT stock in order to live the rest of his days in luxury.

But practically, I don't think Bill Gates has enough votes to singularly bring about the closure of Microsoft. It's a public company, and Bill is simply an employee and shareholder, the same as so many others.
