Thanks, Monty, very informative. As a matter of fact, I
downloaded pub 550 from the IRS web page a while back
but haven't had the guts to read through it yet <G>.
I must move it up on my priority list.

I feel a little guilty, though; there's no reason for
anyone to go dig out stuff for me -- I hope you didn't
spend much time on it. I was asking in the "if you
happen to know" sense. I should have made that clear.
