It was entirely too serious around here yesterday :-)

So, LET'S HAVE A LIMERICK!

MM's are short but soon will be gone
Then "To infinity and beyond"
His name is Byron
With nerves of iron
And proving we're nobody's pawn

Lazarus

I know your question was addressed to macker but I will attempt to answer-macker can add more if I miss anything.

Since MMs are short and they HAVE to cover eventually, they will try 1 of two ways (or both ), IMO. They may first try to lower the price artificially to induce panic selling. They have done it before and did not succeed. They will try it again and it is my bet they will not succeed again. Why? for the simple reason that we all KNOW how UNERVALUED DGIV IS ; therefore, everytime the price is lowered, DGIV investors will step up and buy, causing the MMs to be shorted MORE SHARES.
After seeing that lowering the price does not work, they will have to buy back by raising the price, hoping that as the price goes up, someone will sell. IF ALL DGIV INVESTORS BAND TOGETHER AND DO NOT SELL, as macker suggested last night, guess what will happen? The price will keep on going up since MMs will NOT find enough shares to cover. They will have to keep on raising the price, hoping that at some point, the price will be high enough to induce someone to sell.
My question to everyone is: WHY SELL AT ALL? knowing that eventually we will go to the Nasdaq, where institutional investors are waiting! Knowing that DGIV has all of these potential contracts with countries ALL OVER THE WORLD, contracts that have yet to be announced! Imagine where the price will be once all of these events take place!!! AGAIN, WHY SELL???

The FUNDAMENATALS KEEP ON GETTING BETTER AND BETTER, and yes, DGIV is a BETTER BUY now than when it was at 1 (since we KNOW more about it now, hence the risk/reward ratio of owning this stock is MUCH MORE toward the reward side!!!).

Yes, the MMs are in HUGE trouble, and THEY KNOW IT!!!!

first, they dont have to cover until the deadline wach month, then all their books have to balance. if they are having trouble doing it, sometimes they borrow shares from other mm's, kinda like an iou.

but if they are too short and are in danger, they will rocket the bid to get people to take profits, they get shares that way(less desirable for them), or they can plunge the bid to try and get people to panic sell(more desirable for them). sometimes they will raise a bid for only an instance and allow only other mm's to give them shares and then drop the bid just as quick, that is one of the safety nets i referred to a couple hundred posts ago. they will keep the size at 5x5 to not allow for anyone else to interfere with a market order. that is another reason why you see some wild bid and ask spreads at times, these are obvious shorters trying to get help with obtaining shares.

hope that helps.
