Tech Master's post really requires people's careful attention. In the past, I have used an Indian company, Tata Consultancy, and in order to use them effectively, routinely had to bring on-shore their technical experts for extended stays. If that was hampered by any sort of visa restriction, I would have had to use another source.

I can't assess the impact of any proposed restrictions on India based Y2K companies, but I would recommend people do some due diligence here before they get surprised.

I doubt if the US government will take such grim step because
workers (with H1 visa) are employed across all spectrum of
US industries (Intel, microsoft, motorola to name few)

US senate approves the increase in H1-B visa by a vote of 78-20. The
quota was increased from 65000 to 95000 per annum for next 5 years.
This is good news for MAST,SYNT,CBSL,IMRS. Way to go!. We should see
these stocks rebound from the present slump.
