I agree with you Phil. Good point about Dell as a short. We'll see what the earnings report sez tomorrow. If they beat expectation again, the market will see them as immune to the inventory troubles. It's still possible that as word spreads about the Wintel inventory glut, Dell's customer base will go bargain shopping. The current quarter will be a test of this for Dell. All the noise about Microsoft the Monopoly Bad Guy will send new business Apple's way, especially since Apple is winning the performance contests and has a clear strategy for a Unix kernal, multi-tasking, memory protected OS X and a vastly improved development environment.
