Excellent perspective. I agree wholeheartedly. The world needs a Y2K fix. Badly. Vertex 2000 is a temporary solution that will allow the proper fix sufficient time to be applied. That sentiment came from Bob Bemer himself.

Re: "reasons other than my personal wallet". The sad news is that I've been having the same altruistic thoughts for a few years, myself. I was really hoping that MatriDigm's solution would work well. It certainly had the marketing hype behind it, and the product seemed to work (on the surface, at least). But, here it is a year and a half after their first Beta, and as yet it hasn't been recognized as a wonderful solution. I fear the same outcome for Vertex 2000. Marketing hype sets expectations so high that they cannot be met, thus leading to extreme disappointment in the final performance of the product.

Reality has to set in for Y2K affected sites. Those that haven't gotten started yet are in DEEP doo-doo. The world will feel the pain.
