The credibility of the NYTimes article mainly depends on the Dr Watson alleged quote. Given that Dr. Watson has has denied the quote attributed to him, publishing a book on the subject is a moot point; i.e., apart from getting the 2 million dollars. However, when you sign a contract to write a book, in effect, you are signing a package deal-- i.e., you are also asked to accept traveling & publicizing the book by engaging in the discussions about the book. Now, let assume ABC/NBC/CBS/CNN/PBS, etc, confront the author with our dear Dr. Watson...and let assume the author is no Sherlock Holmes....the rest follows...
