Shane,

Was not aware of the loss of WDC. Had not seen any news. Thanks for mentioning. That would explain the significant drop in revenue. Given the growth of the power segment they should be able to power on through this, but rebound of disk drives was one of the "plusses" I had factored into my favorable opinion of the stock.

I'm definitely hoping the BMRQ merger is approved (and I feel it will) because I bought the BMRQ shares in anticipation of the conversion to UTR. They were trading at a discount to UTR at the time, and may convert at a rate greater than 1:1 if UTR is trading under $16 at the time of the merger. (Not sure of the details, but I'll get at least a 1:1 conversion as long as UTR is under $24, which seems likely).

I e-mailed UTR's IR people and they said the merger must occur within two days of the annual meeting which is currently scheduled for June 19, so I won't have to wait long to find out.

You may be interested, here's what IR stated to me concerning the merger:

"However, BMRQ is a market leader in battery management; Unitrode
is a technical leader in power management. BMRQ's exertise is on the
battery side and Unitrode's is on the power systems side. In order to
have an efficient, well-regulated voltage delivered to a power system in
any kind of portable electronic equipment, both sides of the power
delivery system must talk to each other--a handshake so to speak. The
merger will establish, we believe, a very strong technical position to
design state-of-the-art circuits for power management in portable
applications."
