Walt, I never said it was automatically lowered! What I said is that some companies like Seagate routinely lower option exercise prices for top executives. I don't believe the SEC has any role in that decision; it may, for all I know, require shareholder approval. The point was and is that these costs are not explicitly listed on income statements and current accounting practices obfuscate these costs. You need to be an amateur detective to find them!
