What I'm saying is maybe Netscape didn't really have a viable plan for competing in the OS
arena.

Whoever said that Netscape ever had any plan to compete in the OS arena? Now I know you don't know what you're talking about.

Dwight,

>>What I'm saying is maybe Netscape didn't really have a viable plan for competing in the OS arena. Browsing in an OS function. Microsoft does better OS than Netscape. Netscape doesn't have a "right" to succeed, anymore than WebCrawler or Spyglass had a "right" to be successful. They all had a right to try. They simply all failed. MSFT simply makes the best OS, hands down. (IMO). -GGG-

It is easy to shirk the issue by saying that they did not try hard enough, but that says nothing. What "viable" alternatives could they pursue to put Netscape (or any browser) onto the Windows desktop? We can argue for the sake of arguing but what does an accountant know about the software industry? Not much more than a Judge...

Cheers,

Norm
