Bill,

As you know I'm trying to decide between the same companies as you. But, the thing to remember with the different software platforms, is that you should pick what you feel comfortable with for the short term, because it is impossible to know who will be the movers and shakers in 1-2 years. Witness the beginning of the computer industry. Does anybody remember the guy who came out with the first portable? Didn't think so.

Because there is no huge upfront investment in Cybercorp or MB, it is relatively inexpensive to change, if you have to in the future. Of course, no one wants to change software packages or brokers, but in the scope of making a business decision (and daytrading is a business) it cost nothing but time (while worth something is still minor from a business sense).

Sometimes I forget this, and spend too much time worrying over details which won't make me a better or worse trader. I'm just going to pick one, spend most of my time learning daytrading techniques and see what shakes out over the next year. The companies which offer the best features and support, with training options, (hello any brokers out there listening) will be the one's in business in 10 years.

Brent
