I couldn't agree more, Valueman. I've just been trying to relay the verbiage I've seen on Geraldo, CNBC, and the Sunday morn talking heads shows. In answer to your statement "It makes absolutely no sense." I would respond, of course it doesn't unless political interest groups think you could use this issue to advance a specific agenda, which I would add, Barr and Burton want to do. Schwartz is just a pawn in this cynical Washington game, IMHO.

I hope you and Tim A. are right in your assessment about the effect on Loral, especially since I have a nice percentage of my Money Purchase Keogh in it. I certainly didn't mean to "spin" this excellent LOR thread into a discussion of politics, I just find the two inseparable, at least for the moment.

I hope within a short time,this whole point is moot and my original post re: this issue has faded into the blue.

Do you know something about some business of LOR in Russia?
In particular, is LOR working together with VimpelCom (VIP),
the biggest cellular company in Russia?

How can anyone, no matter how Republican they are, believe that Bernard Schwartz would have the slightest interest in trying to profit by selling "secrets" to the Chinese?

What do you mean by "believe"? It's official now: Loral has supplied highly-sensitive missile guidance technology to China. Thanks to Loral, Chinese strategic missiles targeting the US will be able to deliver eight nuclear warheads instead of just one.

The bottom line is:

Schwartz has made millions in LOR stock and options and kicked back some of that to the Democrats;

the Democrats have also collected millions in illegal political contributions from China;

taxpayers will end up shelling out billions of dollars to neutralize the threat posed by China's Loral-designed Clinton-approved multiple-warhead nukes.
