Why does anyone have to be an ally? What is an ally anyway? As we evolve to a world economy where we are all increasingly interdependent, we become less likely, as nations, to become adversarial for purely parochial reasons. India and China are nationalistic. So what? We aren't? It was recently reported that one of the countries most involved in industrial espionage against the U.S. is France. Are they an ally? What about Israel? To me, the biggest threat to all of us is political. The compulsion of the super-rich to become increasingly super-rich at the expense of the working class and the poor. That is what we are seeing today in Indonesia and it is possible anywhere.
My best to India AND China.
