Penni, X,

Now that I have two votes, I can get started! Seriously, my greatest fault or attribute is that I really do believe there are reasonably simple solutions to our problems in health care, welfare, political corruption, foreign relations, infrastructure, education, etc. The problem is that politics and politicians cannot exercise the simple solutions without offending their financial bases. So it all boils down to campaign and other political contribution reform. Mayor Ed Koch on TV tonight (Bay Buchanan's talk show on CNBC) said that the simple way to campaign finance reform and "soft money" is just to limit the amount anyone or any group can contribute to a party to $1000. Seems simple enough to me.

Reagan got chided for having simple solutions to complex problems. The problem is that to execute the simple solutions, some feet must be stepped on: the blacks, the whites, the Christians, the Jews, the doctors, the lawyers, the teachers, the unions, the old, the young. I think that is called leadership. Third party time, folks.
