Verity's products run on all the popular UNIX, Microsoft, DEC platforms. Also Verity is embedded OEM search engine in many serious enterprise apps such as Notes, Sybase, Informix, Netscape servers, SAP, Tandem, many others. Fulcrum's offerings are limited to Windows. Sounds OK on surface, but in corporate market, most data is on various non-windows platforms. Verity does better job of integrating these various platforms, apps into enterprise-wide knowledge management solution. Dataware not important on any front. Used in some older online services such as Dow Jones. Nowhere in corporate world.
